Coleman's Cottage, a vintage Ozark stone cottage, is located on 40 acres in Dent County, just 5 miles from Salem, Missouri.
This hand-hewed cottage was built by Josiah Coleman and was finished around 1952. Josiah's name is carved at the entrance of the second story door.
Restoration of Coleman's cottage took more than a year. Original materials were utilized, however the old oak beams were replaced with new ones to ensure that the three-level cottage would be structurally sound.
All of the original rock walls were cleaned and left in their natural state for their beauty and character. Several antique pieces of furniture were added to give the cottage that quaint and cozy feeling. Our guests have the choice of a two-person suite or four-person suite. A queen bed, kitchenette, sitting room and a modern bath are available in each suite.
We have accumulated a series of pictures showing the pre-construction phase and current lay out of Coleman's Cottage. Included are pictures of guest and family.
